When it is raining , the common practice for shopping centre or office now is to provide plastic bags for wet umbrella.I found one strange wet umbrella bag at US. It printed wet umbrella bag ( see picture). I may want to ask, It is necessary to pint the message on the bag? During the raining day, what we need is a bag to keep the wet umbrella. I can't think of the other reason of using the bag at that point of time.
To me it was a waste in printing words and picture on the plastic bag.

I think the sign for the wet umbrella bags is useful, namely 1) there may be old people carrying wet umbrellas around (during bad weather), hence a sign would help them to locate the bags. 2) You may be surprised that there are still many illiterate people in the US, therefore a picture of a wet umbrella would help them to locate the bags. Generally signs are useful for location purposes especially in highly developed countries where there are a concentration of people in a backdrop of multi-functional buildings. Take for example a busy shopping mall in Singapore. If there are insufficient signs, how do customers going to locate the toilets, restaurants, cinemas, carparks, supermarkets, various types of shops, information centre, underpass to MRT, bus interchange, and so forth. In fact most multi-storey buildings even have a floor directory showing exactlocation of each unit. In short, in a modern society signs are necessary for easy location of places.
