I saw the new at Brunei Brudirect website:
"In a horrific accident early yesterday morning, a 19-year-old security guard was killed after the car he was driving rammed into a tree and ripped into half.
The deceased was on his way to work to perform his 6am shift duty in Kuala Belait when his car went airborne, struck a tree and broke into two near the G10/11 junction along Km12 Jalan Tengah Panaga in Seria".
My concern now is what can be done to prevent such accident from happening? In my opinion, the traffic police can take the following actions:
- Set up warning sign to educate or warn motorists
- Set up speed camera
- Impose heavy fine for speeding
Another other suggestions from the readers?

Pehsk - Does this photo of the accident reminds us of something in Singapore. The answer is an obvious yes. There are many such accidents in Singapore itself. The govt does educate the motoring public, installed many speed detecting cameras, using enforcement personnel, heavy fines and so forth, but the public doesn't seem to take heed. When I was in the US, a friend told me that drunken drivers could be jailed and I was rather taken by surprise by his revelation. It is only recently when matter get out of hand that the govt starts to jail irresponsible drivers and this drastic step appears to be effective.
Dear Zen,
Thanks for the comments.
The accident happened at Brunei. Their control is much lesser than us.
I am suggesting their government to do something to prevent such accident from happening.

Pehsk - The conclusion is not that we have no control or the lack of preventive measures by the relevant authorities. What I am afraid is this
persisting 'bo chap' attitude which is prevalent in many of our local motorists causing accidents including fatal ones.
I heard, the front tire of the car burst, and send the car out of control... and end up hitting a tree.
