I saw the news on Zao Bao that Dubai will be building a swinging building (See newspaper cutting). Each unit in the building can turn 360 degree as they wish.
I know in Singapore, there were a few restaurants located on top the buildings where they will turn slowly for the guests to view the scenery. The idea was good.
Now that Dubai came up with the swinging building. I am sure it will be very much better than our rotating restaurants here.

It is very revolutionary to build fanciful buildings in Dubai. However it is noted that building such untried structures, especially in reclaimed land could be quite risky.More so if the reclaimed land is not allowed to settle down for a period of time. Coupled with a giant tsunami(not too long ago) in the Indian Ocean, global climate change, and earthquakes, these buildings could be potential disasters. We may be too optimistic on the safety aspects of such structures. You can never know of potential dangers lurking around and this is not because I want to throw in some cold water. It is a fact of life. Just like in the case of Sichuan earthquake which could be likened to a thunderous bolt from a blue sky catching everybody's pants down.
