TALKS 谈话 Syarahan

Last Saturday I attended the MOE Excel Fest. The objectives of the Fest were to share with the public the latest teaching methods and trend in the schools.

I spotted some exhibits on talks used by the schools. There were Broad Talk, i- Talk, Small Talk and Window Talk ( see pictures).

Unfortunately I do not have the time to attend the talk to understand the details of all these talks.

MOE is promoting these talks to enable students to acquire communication skill. As we know to communicate effectively is really difficults even for adults, so starting to build up this skill from young is actually necessary. We should commend MOE for being far-sighted in this goal.

Dear Zen,
Thanks for the comments.
Beside talks, I hope MOE should also promote action because action speaker louder han words (talks).

Yep, Americans from young learn to "show and tell". That's why they are so good marketeers.

How many times have we seen good "talkers" move ahead in the corporate ladder due to their presentation and public speaking skills?

Substance is of course also important but noone will know unless you are able to communicate effectively.
