REWARD AND RECOGNITION 奖赏 Hadiah Galakkan


In order to sustain good working habits and for staff to come forward for good idea for the organisation, it is important to provide rewards and recognition.

I saw the “Our Service Hero” poster and the “Arch of Appreciation” at one of the bus interchange (see photos).

My personal observation is that our bus service was very much better than 10 years ago. The bus captains were more polite and patient. They do not overtake the front bus when approaching the bus stop.

Well done our bus captains!

Credits should be given to SBS for appreciating their staff good work. SBS concerted effort to provide good service training, which already produced good results, is indeed commendable. But having said this, there should be room for further improvement in areas like passenger and public safety, bus maintenance, receiving public feedbacks and to act on them promptly. The company has to review on why despite having such good training, their bus crew are still involved in serious accidents, as reported recently. They should find what are the causes, and diligently work out effective solutions.

And they give you a wave of thanks when you slow down your car to let them come out of the bus bay .... at least some of them do.
