AWARDS

My nephew’s daughter Meng Yee had won three champions at the inter-country club swimming competition yesterday.

She received three awards. They were kept in a box. Each box indicated 1ST 50 M Backstroke, 1ST 50M Freestyle and 1ST 50M Butterfly (see photos).

The interesting thing here was the medals were all the same. The difference was only the metal piece to indicate the position of the competition.

I am quite sure the cost of making such awards will be lower as compared to the conventional medals. It was an improvement in the award manufacturing process.

Wow, your nephew's daughter so big already eh, it means that you and I should belong to the grand-parents category. Talking about medals, they should be modelled after games like the olympics, of course less elaborated, like classifying them into gold, silver and bronze. They need not be in real gold, silver and bronze, just be thinly plated would suffice. This arrangement would add more meaning to awards.

Zen,
Thanks for your comments.
I think the organiser wants to save cost by coming up this type of medals. The kid did not mind as long as there was get someting for their effort.

It is not a question whether kids mind the quality of the medals. It is more on the professionism of the organisers whether they are meticulous, and taking pain in doing their jobs. If you are to visit one of the many souvenir shops in town, metal plated or coated metal gifts (like championship cups for example) are quite affordable.
