I attended a career seminar organised by one of the life insurance company last night. The company has good recognition programmes. Big display panels were set up to showcase their outstanding staff (see photos).I found the seminar useful because I have learnt some tips concerning a successful company.
The MD talked about why his company can exist for a long time. The reasons were :
- Focus on training and provide the best training to its staff
- Provide comprehensive and competitive products
- Posses financial strength
There was a sharing by one of their staff on how he became a life planner. He was very happy with his work.
Third was the presentation by a motivator speaker. The speaker talked about change beliefs, set clear goals, develop strategies, take actions and learn from the mistakes.
I liked the remark made by the master of ceremony : knowledge is powerful only act upon! I will use some the ideas for my own business.

Peh - Did you pay to attend the seminar or do they tried to sell you any of their products? My view is that if a participant pays to attend a seminar, with many others following suit, then the company has already reached half way in their promotion campaign, and if they were also able to sell some of their products, they can be considered quite successful in their sale strategy - testified by participants of being impressed. I have a cousin who is a very successful sale executive of a large paint manufacturing company and later on migrated to Australia from Malaysia. He said that a capable sales person is one who is able to impress his customers through sales talks. Obviously the
company has people of this caliber.
