I was touch by the school for encouraging students to put up suggestions and implement them ( see 22 sep 2008 Today newspaper cutting).The students did not complain about sunlight, instead they took action to design curtains for their class. The students are encouraged to implement solution for their suggestions. Best suggestion for each level gets a prize!
The school was awarded the school excellence award in the Ministry of Education's Master plan of award this year.
Rewards for bright ideas is one of the element in cultivating continuous improvement spirit.

Now that MOE has encouraged students to make suggestions to improve the school environment which I think it is a good start. The culture of improving things is beginning to spread widely and I hope such a movement could involve the general public and to extend to all levels of our society.
