DAWN

I attended a performance by a religious group last Sunday (28 Sep 2008). I have observed the following the good points:

  • A feedback box located at the lobby for visitors to give comments
  • The speech was presented in mandarin with the English scrip
  • The performance comprises of difference age groups to cater to the difference needs
The religious group was founded by Japaneses. According to the founder, , everyone can attain enlightenment and become happy. The Chinese translation is 人人皆可成佛,获得幸福。It was a beautiful thing to do.

I am proud to associate with this relegious organisation called Singapore Soka Association for some 30 years in which I took part in a few cultural events like NDP and SEA games held in the eighties at the national stadium. This organisation is not only promoting Nichiren Buddhism world-wide, it also promotes world peace through education, culture and harmony of people all around the world. Also members are encouraged to participate in activities in their society and not merely satisfied being only spectators. The word soka means value creation and the organisation true mission is world peace through value creation by all its members.

Dear Zen,
Thanks for the comments. The thing I learnt is to create value for the society and not to create trouble.

Peh - There is a chinese saying which explains that every individual is borned with a talent. In buddhism, we expounds the principle that each individual can manifest his or her innate talent. For example, some people can draw, some can cook, and others can do this or that. In other words, everyone can contribute in one way or another, and this means value creation, irrespective of whatever background he or she comes from.
