Taiwan has good recycling programme. I saw recycle bins everywhere during my trip. They have only two bins ( See photos).I felt Singapore was lacking on this. Our conscious for recycling was weak. It is time for government to start a campaign on this.
I think the programme should start from the schools. When I was a relief teacher for one secondary and three primary schools, I was not able to see any recycle bins.

Taiwan is a former colony of Japan for some fifty years and is deeply influenced by its former colonial master. In term of keeping the environment clean, it practises the Japanese ways and hence it is able to maintain a high standard of environmental cleanliness. We Singaporeans should keep aside our ego and learn from other countries, particularly in area of environmental control which we are found lacking.
