I was given an assignment to teach Chinese Language for primary school students. I was lucky that I had teaching experience. The first thing I felt was to create interest in learning. If a person had got no interest, It was very difficult to teach them. But how to create interest. It was not easy.
For a start, I will show my students what was happening around the world, how the US students learnt Chinese language.

You are very correct in your teaching method. By showing how children in other countries are able to learn chinese, our students interest of the language will be aroused. Another point is that if black children can learn a difficult language like chinese, our children should have no excuse not able to do so.
I think you have adopted a very creative and wise approach. Pls share with us how our local students responded to your approach.

Thanks for the comments. I will try my best to teach these students. I only started three days. There was no quick solutions.

We all were young before and I can safely say this, if a teacher can arouse interest and enthusiasm of his students, the studying part should not be difficult. I hereby shift your topic a bit. I can still remember many of my chinese educated friends lamenting that they are short-changed by the govt which favours the english educated. To a certain extent they are right and hence many parents jumping wholesale into english language wagon and paying less emphasis to the chinese. Now with China emerging as a giant in the international scene, the govt makes a U-turn and starts paying extra attention to learning of chinese. Now who has the last laugh?
