I blogged about Chinese calligraphy in my previous blog.In yesterday's Zao Bao (25 Jan 2008), it reported that the Japanese used it to make money ( See newspaper cutting).
In my opinion, it was okay because there was a saying : 钱不是万能，没有钱却是万万不能。To translate the phase into English, it meant one can not survive without money.
The question now was how to do it?

Many people view money in various ways. Some associate money to commerialisation, some think that it is a necessary evil and others say that it is a source of all evils - all negatives. In actual fact money is nothing but an innocent medium of exchange, nothing more and nothing less. We should actually judge people who use money whether it is put to good use or otherwise. Take for example if a person donates money for tsunami relief fund then that he is worthy of praise, on the other hand if a guy who spend his money in gambling while neglecting his family, then he is should be considered a very irresponsible man, nothing to do with the nature of money itself. So if an artist or other person uses his own talent, time and labour to produce a painting or a piece of calligraphy, as a means of making a living - what is wrong with that?
