My son just came back from ROC. Compared to your son's training, their's was much easier physically. Apparently for armoured infantry there is no need for the gruelling 73 km route march. Their trg is more technical in nature with lots of of equipment preparation, vehicle maintenance, live firing and weapons cleaning.
But my friends' son who was in Signals had to go through this tough route march in ROC as well.

You should be so proud of your commando son. By the way, which camp is that - where the POP was held?
