I read the ST newspaper that Japanese was very hard working (see picture It's do or die).
The word "Karoshi" meant death due to overwork. It was recognised as the second leading cause of death, after cancer in Japan.
One area the Japanese must study is how to improve their life. In another words, how to strike a balance between work and life.
It is easy said than done.

Loyalty to the company is one thing but common-sense is another. I think Singaporeans belong to the latter kind that is common-sense. My boss used to say if we worked in such a way that led to injury or even death did the company award us a gold medal? Perhaps they would send a wreath to the funeral specified by the company by-law not exceeding a hundred dollars?
