SERVICE ON THE MOVE

Recently my friend and I traveled to KL by coach. I was impressed by the service provided.

One the way to KL, the staff welcomed us on board. He told us the travelling time to reach KL. We were served with mineral water, breakfast, tea and coffee. This was the first time I received such service.

On the return trip to Singapore, we used another company. There was individual entertainment programme provided. (see photo).

The fee we paid was reasonable. We had a pleasant experience traveling to Malaysia.

This mode of transport has improved tremendously through the years and the Malaysian government should be given credits for providing good roads, especially the north south express way. This means of transport should provide ample competition to air and rail travelling, easing the way to better communication of both countries for the benefits of all travellers.

The days of cheap airfares on the Singapore-KL route has arrived.

With such keen competition, the coach services need to improve or their days are numbered, especially it means wasted hours queuing at the Causeway during peak periods.

I agree to kevin's observation, but travellers not in a hurry may find some virtue in road transportation - able to view the rustic countryside and its greenery, casually take a break at a small coffeeshop or restaurant while tucking in delicious local food fares. at the same time chit-chatting with friends, stretch themselves a bit while breathing in some fresh air, buying something from an assortment of roadside stalls and so forth. These are simple pleasures in life while enrouting to their destinations. Through fiece competition, prices for various modes of transportation would reach an equilibrium.

Yah, coach tours is getting much better today in Malaysia, but the regular inter-city buses is still wanting of improvement. Not only their time table is not according to schedule, the interchange is also unsightly and untidy..Try Puduraya to see for yourself.
