My wife bought two boxes of Ling Zhi during our Taiwan trip . I was not sure what Ling Zhi was all about.
After I returned to Singapore, I borrowed two books on Ling Zhi from National Library. After reading the books, I released it was an excellence Chinese herb.
According to the books, Ling Zhi had no side effect, it could clear up our body toxic.
However, there were conditions for eating it:
1 Buy the good quality Ling Zhi
2 Consume it consistently for months and years.
I think it was just like any other good things, we must always do it consistently, than we can see the results. A good example was exercise. You have to practise it regularly in order to achieve results.

Since ancient time Ling zhi is known for its healing power and many folklores testify to it. Similarly many TCM practitioners sing praises of this powerful mystical herb. With this awesome reputation, many people, mostly chinese, are lured to this wonder herb. Here lies the problem - is the herb on sale at the shops is of genuine quality or not? Some years ago I spoke to a chinese medicine shop owner on the quality of chinese herbs and found him resignedly shaking his head, accepting the fact that there are many suppliers of TCM herbs supplying poor quality herbs in the markets. They are mainly from China and Malaysia. In other words, when we buy TCM products we should not doubt the power of the herbs but be aware of dishonest suppliers instead. If the herbs are genuine - no problem, but if they are not? consuming them for months and years! - good luck folks! We may end up like the recent poison-milk victims. There is only one way to avoid buying shoddy goods. We should try our best to buy them from reputable shops which are supposed to have good quality controls over their TCM.
My friend, this just shows that despite being Chinese educated, you seldom read Chinese 武侠小说 wherein they mentioned the rare, miraculous 千年灵芝 that can heal or cure all diseases and poisons.
I learned my Mandarin reading such story books and comics, watching Chinese movies and listening to Chinese pop songs, despite having no formal Chinese education. :)
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year, my good friend!
Dear Friends,
Thanks for the comments. I need to pick up my chinese.
