TEN IDEAS FOR 2009

I read today's Straits Times. There is an article on 10 tips for the better year. Just in case my reader missed the news, I have posted it here.

The 10 tips are :

1 Set realistic goals
2 Focus on your health
3 Invest in your development
4 Know your priorities
5 Eliminate time robbers
6 Surround yourself with VIPs ( Very inspiring Person)
7 Plan your next holiday
8 Make time for those you care for
9 Create an "attitude" to do list
10 Choose to be amazing

In my opinion, the challenge here is to implement them. Ideas with action is just a dream!

The 10 tips are nothing very special and we should be making use of them any way, irrespective of any year in particular. Here are some of my comments relevant to myself: For tip no.

1 I need to have attainable goals for me to move forward whether I like them or not.

2 As a senior I have to look after my own health otherwise who will?

3 The word development is quite generalised and vague....what development is the writer talking about?

4 I have my own priorities be they important or not, otherwise I will be leading a confused life.

5 As a senior using whatever available time left for me is extremely important otherwise.... when? but I must admit I am slack in this area.

6 When a person is retired there is no necessity to surround himself or herself with VIPs - a few good friend will do.

7 As a senior I always look forward how to spend the next holiday, therefore planning it comes quite naturally.

8 Caring for oneself, family members and friends should be on-going not just for the coming year.

9 Writing a list of things to do daily is already quite good for a senior, with attitude or not is not that essential.

10 For a person who has gone through life, he or she should be more modest rather than amazing.
